GeComplexity Conference - Call for Papers

The COST Action “The EU in the new complex geography of economic systems: models, tools and policy evaluation” ( looks forward to welcome you to the GeComplexity Conference.

The conference will take place on 26 - 27 May 2016 at the Aquila Atlantis Hotel ( Heraklion, Crete, Greece.

The GeComplexity Conference

The GeComplexity Conference will provide a platform for presentations and discussions on the latest research in the fields:

  1. Economic Geography modeling and multiregional New Economic Geography models.

  2. Institutions and markets, effects of economic policy instruments on regional inequalities, economic welfare and competitiveness.

  3. Social and industrial interactions, economic networks, spatial economic systems and individual location choices.

  4. Mathematical and computational methods and tools for the study of strategic interaction, heterogeneity, complexity and nonlinear dynamics.

Heraklion is the capital of Crete and one of the Mediterranean’s most fascinating and vibrant cities. It is full of places to discover and it speaks as of a past full of history and great events that reflect its location in the south-eastern Mediterranean Sea connecting three continents and many different cultures.

The city is also the commercial, educational and technological centre of the island and offers a wealth of museums, historical sightseeing, amazing cuisine, as well as nightlife and events throughout the year.
